With this painting, I’m highlighting the power that lies within the courage to change. I used the metaphor of a woman shaving her own head as a significant act of transition and self reinvention. I wanted to signify that first moment of action and the shift from “I’m gonna do this” to “this is really happening” and that’s why it’s the very first stroke of the clippers.
